I'm currently watching/reading the match tracker for the Reading v. Burnly game (Reading is winning!) and I just loved this moment of commentary that I had to post it:
71 mins - A moment of complete comedy. Jensen hooks it forward under pressure from Kebe and Blake is in behind the Royals back line in acres of space scampering after it. He's not offside and the backtracking Paterson is not interfering so Blake has a golden opportunity here, but he clattered into Paterson and both fall to the floor as the ball dribbles harmlessly through to Hahnemann.
[As a side note, Kebe/Hahnemann are Reading players]

Happy belated birthday to jinii_chan! I'm sorry I forgot to wish you a good birthday yesterday. My mind was completely elsewhere. Anyway, hope you had an awesome day!

So yesterday I went to MLS CUP 2007. As much as I wanted DC United to be there, I still had a good time and the team I was rooting for (Houston Dynamo) won! Here's a rundown of the cool things:
1. Placido Domingo sang the national anthem. Placido Domingo!!! As much as I'm not an opera fan, you can't help but be awed by Placido Domingo. Thus, best national anthem I have ever heard in my entire life. And after he sang, the jets flew over the stadium, which I've seen before (I think in 1999 when DC United won the Eastern Conference), but it's cool to see again. Plus, Domingo did the coin flip to see who kicks off first.
2. Best seats ever. We were two rows back and we're VERY close to where the players leave the field/come on the field from the locker room. Thus, I got pictures of some of the players, and a good picture of the MLS Cup trophy as they brought it out. I might post pictures later.
3. The guys in front of us were very vocal and knew the names of like everyone in the entire MLS community's name, so within 2 feet of me, I got to see the MLS Commissioner (ie, head honcho of MLS), the New England owner (who, despite the fact I hate his team, was very nice), etc, etc. The best part was at the end, we waited and waited until the players went to the locker room and some of the players came over to us! I have some awesome pictures of Brian Ching (a favorite player of Chrystens).
It was great. Next year, though, DC United better be in the final, even though there is no chance I'll be able to go to the final.

A couple months ago, I posted an entry about "piyo piyo," these Japanese pound cakes shaped like chicks. Well, I found out recently that my brother had the wrong name for the items. They are actually called "hiyokos". Thus, I can now find a picture of one:

Also, if you google search "hiyoko," you get this:

Best quote ever: "Her model looked like she was pooing fabric."
Spoken by Heidi Klum, about a "tight-fitting teal dress with its 10-foot-long patchwork train of unfinished fabric with Swiss cheese texture" designed by a contestant on Project Runway.

Hahaha...Look how short my favorite soccer player is compared to the other players! (He's the player to the right of the goalie)
